How to cancel or unsubscribe from Amazon Prime

How to cancel or unsubscribe from Amazon Prime: Sign in to your Amazon account. Official path: signed-in account on the brand site. Do not use any Prime benefit (free shipping, Prime Video, etc.) after your last charge if you want the full refund — a single use forfeits it; annual plans only get a prorated refund by phoning a live agent, not through the self-service flow.

Official steps

  1. Sign in to your Amazon account.
  2. Go to Prime membership management (Account > Prime, or the 'Your Memberships and Subscriptions' page).
  3. Select 'Manage Membership' then 'Update, Cancel and More' > 'End Membership'.
  4. Click through the multi-page retention flow (offers to pause, reminders of benefits lost) until you reach the final cancel button.
  5. Choose 'End Now' for an immediate refund of the current period (if no benefits used) or 'End on [renewal date]' to keep access through the paid term.
  6. Confirm and save the cancellation confirmation showing your access end date.

Do I need an account?

Requires signing into the account owner's Amazon account and clicking through a multi-page cancellation/retention flow.

Window, fees & policy notes

$14.99/mo or $139/yr; cancel is free but self-service gives NO proration — full refund of the current period only if no benefits used since the last charge (within 3 business days of signup = full refund minus benefits used); no in-store option (digital); gift/promo-code memberships are non-refundable, and if you subscribed via Google Play or Apple you must cancel through that app store.
