How to cancel Xfinity

How to cancel Xfinity: Go to xfinity.com/cancel and choose to schedule a callback, or call 1-800-934-6489 (1-800-XFINITY). This cancel is typically done by phone. Ask for a cancellation confirmation number before you hang up, and return leased equipment with a dated receipt or you'll be billed unreturned-equipment fees.

Official steps

  1. Go to xfinity.com/cancel and choose to schedule a callback, or call 1-800-934-6489 (1-800-XFINITY).
  2. In the voice menu say "cancel service" or "disconnect services" to reach the Retention department.
  3. Verify your identity as the account holder and state you want to disconnect all service on a specific date.
  4. Decline the retention/save offers and confirm the disconnect date.
  5. Before hanging up, get a cancellation confirmation number plus the rep's name and the date.
  6. Return any leased equipment (modem, router, gateway) to an Xfinity Store or UPS and keep the receipt to avoid unreturned-equipment fees.

Do I need an account?

Xfinity has no online self-cancel: the account holder must reach Retention by phone (or scheduled callback) or visit a store and pass the recorded retention pitch.

Window, fees & policy notes

Cancel anytime — current residential internet has no term contract or early-termination fee; final bill is pro-rated to the disconnect date in most states; older term/bundle or Xfinity Mobile device contracts can still carry an ETF or device payoff; also cancellable in person at an Xfinity Store; leased equipment must be returned or equipment fees apply.
